Referral partner program · BizBuyData by Mode Inc.
Earn $50K for every business you introduce.
Mode Inc. runs a program called BizBuyData. Mode pays companies to license a de-identified copy of how their work gets done (the back-and-forth in email threads, team chats, support tickets and SOPs), which the big AI labs use to train AI agents. Names, email addresses and contact details are removed or replaced before any AI lab sees it. The company gets paid $100K to $5M, with no debt and no equity given up.
You don't sell anything. You just know business owners. Introduce one that qualifies, and when they get paid, you get $50K or 6% of the deal, whichever is bigger. That's on your first five deals; from your sixth deal, the rates go up (see the tiers below).
First question everyone asks: what about the data? Mode says every copy goes through de-identification: names, contact details and sensitive material are removed or changed before it reaches any AI lab. The business keeps its originals.
- or
- $50,000minimum commission per company you refer
- 6%of the deal value, if greater
You get whichever is bigger. If Mode pays a company $1M for its data, you make $60K instead of $50K.
Mode pays your fee on top of the company's price. It never comes out of the owner's payout.
A signed deal from Mode's affiliate package: a marketing company with about 90 full-time staff licensed six years of records for $980,000. The referral fee was $58,800, since 6% beat the $50K minimum.
Your reward tiers
Every amount is whichever is greater. Refer another affiliate and you earn a second-tier commission on every deal they close.
| Qualified deals | Direct referral | Second-tier commission |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 5 | $50,000 or 6% | $5,000 or 1% |
| 6 to 25 | $52,500 or 6.25% | $7,500 or 1.25% |
| 26+ | $55,000 or 6.5% | $10,000 or 1.5% |
Direct referrals of companies headquartered outside the US earn 6% with no minimum. Direct and second-tier counts are tracked separately and never reset.
What about the data?
Here's how Mode says it handles the data.
- De-identification comes first. Mode removes or changes names and contact details before the copy reaches any AI lab.
- The systems and date ranges are agreed with the owner before anything is exported.
- No passwords get handed over. The owner's team signs in themselves.
- AI developers get the filtered copy, not the original records. Mode says it doesn't publish source records or sell them as a report about the company.
- The business keeps its original records and systems.
| Field | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Client | Jennifer | |
| Company | renamed | |
| Invoice | amount changed | |
| Every staff name | replaced |
This is a summary, not the agreement. Mode's data license agreement sets the real terms, including how long the license lasts, who the data can be shared with, and who is responsible for it. Every owner should have their own lawyer review it before signing. Questions about the terms go to Mode at partnerships@mode.inc.

Businesses get paid for data they already have.
AI companies need real examples of how work gets done. Email threads, Slack conversations, tickets, CRM notes, SOPs. They want to see how problems come up and how people solve them, so they can train AI agents that work like a good coworker. Mode prices that data, scrubs out anything identifying, and delivers it.
- $100K to $5Mpaid to the business, based on size and history
- 2 to 3 monthstypically, from first call to the company being paid, depending on how quickly they move
- No debt, no equityIt's a data license for a de-identified copy. Not a loan or investment.
